CNS/ATM EMD program continues to make steady progress

Although the planned delivery of N-1 (NE-3A Tail 459) has moved from Jan 2016, to Nov 2016, the CNS/ATM EMD program continues to make steady progress after completing over 40 flights over the last 12 months in support of qualification test and requirements verification efforts.

Over the first two quarters of CY2016, the aircraft will be used to support Tech Order validation efforts, additional regression testing, and flight crew training. During the second half of the year, the aircraft will be used to support integration and check-out of the ADS-B Out capability.

Coordination between NAPMA and Force Command/Component are ramping up to ensure that the necessary elements are in place to support arrival of the aircraft back at MOB GK by the end of the year. As the EMD activities continue, N-2 will be inducted to the Airbus facility at Manching Germany to undergo the CNS/ATM modification, and will mark the start of the Production and Retrofit Readiness (PAR) efforts.
